Nippon Paper Group Operations in China

        Nippon Paper Group has four other production and converting facilities in China in addition to Nippon Paper Shanghai. A liquid packaging container business used mainly for milk cartons will also be actively promoted.

        In China, where economic development is occurring at a rapid pace, Nippon Paper Group has started production of carbonless paper in a joint venture with Shouguang Liben Paper Making Co., Ltd. in 1997. In the same year, Shanghai JP Co., Ltd., a converting and sales company, started its operations. In 2001, Nippon Paper Group invested capital in Zhejiang Jingxing Paper Joint Stock Co., Ltd., and in 2003 in a corrugated board manufacturing company Everwealth Paper Industries (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. In 2005, Zhejiang Jingxing Nippon Paper Co., Ltd. a corrugated medium joint venture company started production.
