NP Trading Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President: Toshio Yamamoto),
a consolidated subsidiary of Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. (President: Masatomo
Nakamura), and Mantsune Corporation (President: Takeshi Fujita), an agent of
Nippon Paper Industries, have concluded a merger agreement following respective
resolutions today by the companies' boards of directors, in accordance with the
basic agreement concluded by both companies on March 30 of this year. A summary
of the agreement follows.
Following approval of this merger agreement at the companies' general shareholders
meetings (NP Trading: scheduled for August 24, Mantsune: scheduled for August
27), the new company will be inaugurated on October 1 of this year.
