New Product Released: NPi Form IJ
—Business Form Paper Suited to Ink-Jet Printing and Folding Confidential Postcards—
Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd.

Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. (President: Takahiko Miyoshi), Japan's leading paper and pulp manufacturing company and the core member of the Nippon Paper Group, has started sales of a new product, called NPi Form IJ. The new product boasts two new features that respond to high market demand, added to the NPi Form business form paper.*1 Specifically, the features are compatibility with ink-jet printing and suitability to folding confidential postcards.
This new product is also compatible with offset printing and has the NIP compatibility*2 offered by the existing NPi Form.

[ Features of the New Product ]
 (1)Compatible with ink-jet printing
  Excels in printing quality, waterproof effect and quick drying performance
 (2)Perfect for folding confidential postcards
  Models of 116.5 g/m2 and more in basis weight per square meter, or 100 kg and more per Japanese-style ream of 1,000 sheets, have the extra features explained below, in consideration of their application to confidential postcards and direct mail postcards.
 i.The quality of printing results before gluing is not damaged by the gluing process.
 ii.No printing ink gets on to the gluing surface when the postcard is opened.

The new product is being manufactured at Asahikawa Mill (Asahikawa-shi, Hokkaido), with a sales target of 200 ton/month.

*1  Business form papers: continuous business forms
*2  NIP compatibility: the following features are required for business form papers used with
     Non-Impact-Printers:
 (1) Easy folding that prevents slanting when forms pile up
 (2) Compatibility with character printing and excellent toner fixing
 (3) Avoidance of problems such as curling
