On January 29, the baseball club of Ishinomaki Mill of Nippon
Paper Industries Co., Ltd. gave instruction to local boys' teams at the gymnasium
of the mill. The instruction is given each year during the off-season as part
of sport-related exchange.
This year Ohyachi Boys' Baseball Team (rubber-baseball) and Ishinomaki Ohkawa
Junior High School Soft Ball Club took part. At first, the children were nervous
but once catching and batting practice got underway, they were soon concentrating
on the lessons. The employees commented later that the children took the instructions
well and diligently and the time was well spent. The day proved a most productive
exchange.
