They also enjoyed a lunch while the researchers. During the training period, the trainees visited Iwakuni Mill for a dynamic view of paper manufacturing.
On holidays, the trainees experienced Japanese culture by visiting places in Tokyo and tourist sites nearby.
In July, the trainees attended a presentation at the laboratory to demonstrate their research achievements. They also took part in a reception involving foreign students studying at the University of Tokyo. At the party, the participants enjoyed an exchange of opinions and made new friends.
The acceptance of trainees from overseas also serves as an opportunity for young researchers to practice their English and promote fellowship with pulp and paper researchers in other countries.
