Children of a local elementary school club playing badminton in the gymnasium |
For many years, the Health Insurance Hall
and Welfare Hall at Fushiki Mill of Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. have been
made available to the local community. It all began in around 1975, when the Company
decided to open the gymnasium in the Health Insurance Hall to the Kofukouka Moms'
Volleyball Team, as part of its commitment to regional contribution.
Today, the
facilities are used for local group activities and by elementary school clubs,
for a range of purposes. More than 150 local residents use the facilities each
year. The gymnasium in the Health Insurance Hall is equipped with facilities for
a number of different sports.
In addition to volleyball equipment, there are ping-pong
tables, which are used by the children of a local elementary school club as they
practice diligently. Training opportunities are also provided for beach volleyball,
soccer and other clubs. People of all age groups are using the gymnasium for health
and fitness.
Japanese tatami rooms in the Health Insurance Hall and Welfare Hall
are also being used for classes in Noh song, go, Japanese calligraphy and other
subjects.
