On February 27, a special art appreciation meeting
for disabled persons was held at Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum. About 400 people
with a disability and their carers took part in the meeting.
Twelve employees of Nippon Paper Group took part as volunteers, receiving guests
and guiding them on the floor and around the elevator.
Four of them were taking part in the meeting for the first time. All of the employees
devoted themselves to volunteer activities through the day, while taking care
of a guest.
Participating employees provided positive feedback:“I was happy as well because
the participants were very pleased. I hope this activity will continue for a
long time,”“I felt it was important to give assistance to disabled
people when they need it, without interfering more than necessary. I had an experience
I can’t get from everyday work. I learned a lot.”
After the art appreciation meeting, the staff of Tokyo Metropolitan Museum and
Able Art Japan expressed their gratitude for securing lead tracks and also their
intentions to continue the cooperation.
