We accept interns from local high schools as part of our public relation commitments. Four students in the second year in the Auto Electronic Machinery Course at Yoshiwara Technical High School (Shizuoka) joined us for three days from September 12 to 14, 2006. They received an explanation about our corporate profile and the paperboard production process. Since a large part of the work of our Engineering Department involves curricula of a technical high school, staff members of the department took the lead in teaching the interns how to make control circuits and to maintain pumps, bearings and other kinds of equipment. At the Technical Department, the interns learned about the color adjustment process for hand-making tests. The interns experienced the kinds of challenges and feelings of accomplishment that would rarely be encountered in normal school life. Our acceptance of internship is designed to enable students to develop a professional attitude and deepen their understanding of work by experience some jobs for themselves. We will continue to accept interns and contribute to the local community in a way that enables people to become more familiar with us.
