Nippon Paper Group's Charter on the Environment has been amended. This is designed to enable Nippon Paper Group as a whole to make clear its attitudes on achieving coexistence with the natural environment. By establishing the Environmental Action Plan, the Group will strengthen progress management and regular reviews and publicly announce its environmental commitments . A draft of the amendments was disclosed to the public so that opinions and requests could be heard from a broad cross-section of members of the public. We considered these public responses in reviewing the Charter on the Environment.





The Nippon Paper Group is committed to helping preserve the global environment over the long term and contributing to the development of a recycling-based society by carrying out its corporate activities in recognition of the importance of biodiversity.

2.		Protect and develop forest resources
3.		Increase use of recycled resources
4.		Comply with environmental statutes and work to minimize our environmental impact
5.		Develop environmentally friendly technologies and products
6.		Engage in active environmental communication

Nippon Paper Group companies will each establish their own specific environmental action plans and implementation programs in compliance with the philosophy and basic policy of the group´s Charter on the Environment.
