Matte inkjet
printing postcards
Inkjet printing postcards, which have recently
gained popularity for use in Japanese New Year's cards, were developed by Nippon
Paper Industries. Such cards are unique for their double-sided printing requirements,
as they consist of an address side and a message side. In response, Nippon Paper
Industries has combined the expertise it has accumulated in both standard printing
paper and inkjet printing paper to develop products that meet these market needs.

On-demand
printing
On-demand printing systems (both LBP and inkjet
) possess such unique features as the ability to print directly from a computer,
nonreliance on printing plates, and variable printability. As such, it presents
much greater potential than even offset printing in the development of new printing
fields and expansion in small-lot printing. |
|
Weatherproof
on-demand printing paper
As one of the products in its on-demand printing
paper lineup, Nippon Paper Industries is developing a version of its water-resistant
Oper® product that is compatible with color LBP. Leveraging the unique properties
of Oper®, which is a paper and resin composite, we have created a product
that has both fine on-demand printability and weatherability (water resistance),
which we will be promoting in the market for on-demand printed price cards, outdoor
posters, and book covers. |
High-speed inkjet printing paper
Line head inkjet printers, which feature
an ink emission nozzle arrayal that is expanded to the same size as the width
of
the printing paper, are capable of printing speeds (in full-color models) that
surpass LBP system printers and are staking out their own portion of the on-demand
printing market. Nippon Paper Industries has created a product that achieves
both
superior cost-performance and excellent opacity with a very low show-through
rate in addition to a coated layer with excellent printability.

Synthetic
paper with
outstanding printability
Oper® is a composite material that combines
the benefits of both paper and resin. Using paper as its primary ingredient,
Oper®
features both softness to the touch and the water resistance of film. The polyolefin
resin has been used in the top layer to provide added printability
and
other
functional properties. The Oper®
lineup is widely used in water-resistant packing and outdoor maps, pamphlets,
and posters.
