Geibo Mill is located on the south shore of Miyajima, one of the three most scenic spots in Japan. The Mill is part of a chemical complex with other companies including Mitsubishi Rayon and Mitsui Chemicals.
Oze River flows nearby the Mill, and the basin was traditionally known for its handmade Japanese paper.
The Mill was established in 1959, with the aim of self-sufficiency in pulp production. The Mill also began high-quality white patent-coated board production in 1973, and linerboard & corrugating medium in 2001.
The Yasaka Dam located at the upper part of the Oze River displaces about a hundred million tons of water—more than enough to meet the Mill's requirements. The Mill is in a fortunate location surrounded by plentiful water, fertile land and a useful harbor.
In addition, Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. Iwakuni Mill and Crecia Corporation Iwakuni Mill are located nearby, creating a cooperative environment that bolsters the operations of Nippon Paper Group.
