Built in 1938, the Ishinomaki Mill takes advantage
of its conveniently close location to abundant water in the Kitakami River, as
well as its proximity to the Pacific ocean for the transport of wood and wood
chips, materials, and paper products by sea.
The Mill turns out a variety of paper productswoodfree paper, groundwood
contained paper, coated paper, newsprintusing mechanical pulp, chemical
pulp, and de-inked pulp. As a principal manufacturer of printing paper for Nippon
Paper Group, the Ishinomaki Mills production volume is one of the
largest in the world.
With the advantage of its proximity to the sea, the Mill plays an important role
in ensuring a stable supply of high-quality paper products to the greater Tokyo
area.
